Joseph Galish

I was raised on a farm in Oklahoma, where our family raised horses and cattle. Throughout childhood and into high school my family instilled in me the value of hard work, respect, and accountability.  I have always been grateful for this.

Upon completion of high school I joined the United States Air Force and served in Law Enforcement.  During my 4 year active duty stint I was fortunate enough to travel throughout Europe and play competitive basketball.  After 15 years, 11 in the Air Force Reserves I put my wings away.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and went to work in finance.  My finance career led to many exciting opportunities.  I was hired by Associates First Capital to turn around failing consumer finance branches.  After that I stepped into the big leagues and joined Fremont Investment & Loan where I served as a Wholesale Banking Lender.  My last stop in finance was with Bear Stearns as a Wholesale Wall Street Lender. During these years I married my beautiful wife and had two wonderful sons.  We accumulated multiple properties and held the moniker of landlord.

When the markets crashed in 2008 I made a life changing decision to get into education, and have loved teaching at San Tan Foothills High School ever since.  I received my Masters in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix.  I teach Business Management and am the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Advisor.

The game of basketball that I fell in love with as a high school student and honed in the Air Force provides a platform of knowledge and understanding that I draw from as I serve as the Sabercat’s Boys Varsity Basketball Coach.

In closing, I am one of only 2 original faculty members who opened STFHS those many years ago.  I am proud to say we are indeed making San Tan Foothills a place for greatness.
