I was born and raised in Michigan, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance and English from Albion College in 1997. While teaching middle school English in a suburb near Detroit, I worked to earn my Master’s Degree in Reading and Language Arts from Oakland University. I moved to Arizona in the summer of 2008 and have since obtained my Library/Educational Media endorsement. After several years of teaching middle school and a year as an elementary media specialist, I am delighted to be teaching high school English at San Tan Foothills.
I was one of the few teachers who chose to remain at Foothills through the transition following the consolidation. I knew the students deserved continuity and stability, and I was happy to provide it. This is my third year here at Foothills, and I’m delighted to see my seniors every day as they prepare for a larger world. I feel like this age group is where I truly belong. I hope to build a lasting legacy at Foothills!
I serve as the Faculty Advisor for National Honor Society, the Senior Class Sponsor, and also am responsible for two other gaming clubs on campus. I participate on Site Council as the Secretary, and can usually be found working the gate at most sporting events along with my husband, Scott Crandall, who is employed with the school as a paraprofessional. Come say hello anytime!
